After graduating in Modern Languages, Sophie started her events career at Consumer Exhibitions working on the BBC Good Food Shows. She subsequently launched the Good Food & Wine Shows in Australia and was also seconded to Food Network to launch the Great Big Food Shows in the US.

With over 25 years’ experience in marketing, editorial and operational management across multiple portfolios, her focus within the senior leadership team now sits with sustainability and NBD.

Sophie was part of the management buy out of River Street Events from BBC Haymarket Exhibitions in 2013 and remains a RSE Board Director after its acquisition by Immediate Media in 2020.
