The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Accounts Payable team for a supervisor to support the Accounts Payable Manager in leading the team in processing payments, expenses, invoicing and setting up new suppliers.

The ideal candidate will be a great communicator and delegator, who enjoys working within a team, has outstanding attention to detail, and enjoys working on a varied number of changeable tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and leadership of the team during managers absence ensuring performance standards and deadlines are met.
  • Accounts payable management to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
  • Manage and monitor the accounts payable aging report to ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and handle inquiries/disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and update accounts payable procedures and policies.
  • Systems and technology reviews to maintain and implement new software where required.
  • Understand and cover the processing of expenses in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Where appropriate ensuring that VAT is claimed back.
  • Preparing the expenses for the fortnightly payment run.
  • Assisting the Accounts Payable team with query resolution.
  • Processing invoices in different currencies.
  • Processing pro forma invoices.
  • Scheduling payments on the master payment run schedule.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Uploading payments onto various banks.
  • New Supplier set ups.
  • Problem solving within the business and with suppliers.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Previous knowledge of working in an Accounts Payable function.
  • Knowledge of foreign payments/bank accounts is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and k/or Workday would be advantageous.
  • Excel skills, to include basic formulas and pivot tables.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Must have a can-do attitude and be a team player.
  • Able to stay on task, making sure a satisfactory conclusion is reached by both parties.
  • Ability to adapt in an evolving department, embracing change.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks with flexibility and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent ability to communicate at all levels.
