The Opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Marketing Executive to join EnergyNet’s marketing team. The successful candidate will he support the both the marketing and content marketing managers, help to organise and execute innovative marketing campaigns primarily across a portfolio of international events focused on the energy sectors of Africa. About EnergyNet

EnergyNet is a multiple award-winning producer of investment conferences and digital dialogues for Africa and Latin America’s energy sectors. Best known for the Africa Energy Forum, the longest running Forum for decision makers in Africa’s power sector, EnergyNet also produces region-specific investment meetings focusing on the power generation potential of some of the world’s most exciting markets. Recent event locations include Lisbon, Miami, Cape Town, Cartagena, Nairobi, Brussels, Lima, Washington and Panama City. The EnergyNet team consists of around 20 people who are all passionate about the work we do in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Ideal candidate will have solid experience in executing marketing campaigns that raise brand awareness, generate leads and nurture existing leads. Strengths will include: taking ownership of tasks; using initiative and multi-tasking; social media skills in conveying marketing material on social media platforms; Paid Search Campaigns; and email marketing. However, if one of these is missing, we will provide training as character and the right attitude is key!

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Delivery

  • Develop and ensure effective delivery of marketing campaigns to build brand awareness, create customer engagement, generate visitor traffic and sales leads. This could include but is not limited to: SEO, Google Ads, email campaigns and LinkedIn Organic and Paid campaigns.
  • Write and proof any copy for promotional materials, with attention to detail.
  • Organise our presence at events with any promotional assets needed.

Data & Insights Driven

  • Work with our internal teams, to identify relevant existing data to target, opportunities for new data acquisition, and work with the marketing team to ensure a consistent funnel of sales leads and event visitors.
  • Identify and report on KPIs throughout to constantly optimise performance, from direct response to Google Analytics, to report on performance plus suggest and implement new campaign tactics.
  • Support the team with customer insights, data analysis and new business leads.
  • Identify key industry trends, innovations, technologies and Clarion internal practices that can drive growth.

Customer-Centric

  • Ensure campaigns are influenced by customer data, research, performance review and feedback.
  • Implement any tactics needed to get customer experience feedback for product development/enhancement.
  • Continue learning about marketing, and development and energy sector, through attending events, speaking to clients, listening to podcasts and webinars.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Experience of implementing, testing and developing marketing campaigns including effective use of content marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills – with teams internally and externally with customers.
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Take the initiative and be curious in order to spot opportunities that can help achieve goals.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to measure the effectiveness of channels to increase efficiency, provide analysis and make recommendations
  • Proven ability to learn new software tools and test marketing techniques quickly and independently.
  • Problem-solving approach with a positive attitude and passion for results-driven campaigns.
  • Able to travel to events when required.
  • Interest in Africa’s energy and infrastructure sector and interested to learn about the sector.
