The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Marketing Operations Executive to join the Marketing Operations team at Clarion Events.

You will work across three divisions: Retail; Internet Retailing & Payments; and Enthusiast, gaining experience in both trade and consumer events, while contributing to some of the UK's most exciting brands, including Top Drawer, The Destinations Show, Spirit of Christmas, Classic Motor Show, InternetRetailing Events, Transport Ticketing Global, and many more.

Reporting to, and collaborating with, the Marketing Operations Manager, the successful candidate will take a proactive role in analysing and reporting on performance metrics throughout the customer journey, driving the adoption of insights to enrich campaigns whilst ensuring robust data management for key customer groups. This position is a critical part in curating growth and extracting maximum value for the business, ensuring all our shows are customer-centric and insight-driven.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build marketing data reports using Salesforce Einstein, and GA4, sharing regular KPI reports with stakeholders, offering actionable insights.
  • Build Power BI dashboards to monitor campaign success and key customer groups whilst driving self-service initiatives across campaign teams.
  • Troubleshoot negative trends and anomalies in marketing effectiveness, measured by key reach and engagement metrics.
  • Drive web optimisation by analysing customer behaviour and trends via Hotjar.
  • Assist with running complex data queries to segment and personalise data sets.
  • Collaborate with campaign teams to maintain data quality across events (ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency), while documenting processes and streamlining internal workflows.
  • Implementing data privacy policies across marketing initiatives to reduce operational risk and ensures up-to-date compliance with latest guidance.
  • Liaise with the Data and IT teams to integrate data across various platforms, ensuring optimal data utilisation for campaigns and reporting.
  • Work closely with Group Marketing Operations to align on best practices, new technologies and cross sector benchmarking.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Experience in analytics and insight platforms (GA4, Hotjar highly desirable).
  • Experience in building dashboards and working with business intelligence tools (PowerBi highly desirable).
  • Experience in areas including database management, audience segmentation and data enrichment.
  • Experience in reporting and the understanding of metrics, including conversion rates, database growth, lead nurture, engagement, MQL/SQL.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PECR.
  • Strong logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical – excited about uncovering data insights.
  • Passion and energy to make lasting change.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in reporting and data integrity.
  • Insight Obsessed - driven to understand ‘why’ and takes the initiative to identify trends and gaps that others may look past to uncover new routes to success.
