Charity Film Awards Finalist ‘Events for Namuwongo' Seeks Industry Support for People's Choice Award

Charity Film Awards Finalist ‘Events for Namuwongo' Seeks Industry Support for People's Choice Award

Events for Namuwongo (EFN) is a philanthropic network of events-industry companies who support Hope for Children's life-changing work with vulnerable children in the slum village of Namuwongo, Uganda.

Established in September 2011 by events industry leaders who decided to come together to create an industry cause, EFN works to improve the living conditions and youth educational opportunities of the estimated 30,000 people who live in the adopted community.

Founded and spearheaded by London-based Chris Hughes of Brand Events and Trevor Foley of tfconnect Global Recruitment, the cause officially kicked off at the 2011 Global Event Summit and has resulted in a growing network of event companies driven to change the lives of the underprivileged citizens living in Namuwongo.

Earlier this year, a film about the work that EFN funds have made possible was submitted to the Charity Film Awards.  These awards celebrate the success of film in fundraising and aim to demonstrate that a charitable video has the power to change the world.

After 50,000 public votes were cast across 300 different charities, a team of expert Judges reviewed the shortlist and named â€'Events for Namuwongo – The Workâ€' as a Finalist.

The winner will be revealed at the Charity Film Awards ceremony which will be held on the evening of Friday 26 April at the brand new etc.venues' 133 Houndsditch, Liverpool Street, London EC3A 7AH.

In addition to the overall winner, the charity film that receives the most public votes will be crowned the winner of the People's Choice, Charity Film of the Year award.

Voting is live now through April 26th.  Please note all finalists have had their votes set to zero, so even if you've already voted in the first round, EFN needs your vote once again.  Please take a minute to show your support for this amazing Events and Exhibitions industry charitable cause and help to raise the profile of this amazing charity that is changing so many lives in Namuwongo.
