Digital innovation hackathon at Event Tech Live 

HACKATHON

This session at Excel London will gather junior to middle-management exhibition professionals from marketing, sales, and operations to solve digital challenges related to time-saving and revenue growth within the events industry.

Facilitated by Duncan Reid, CEO of Reset Connect London, and judged by the AEO Digital Working Group, participants will engage in a 90-minute hackathon followed by an on-stage 30-minute solution presentation in the afternoon which will culminate in a winner's announcement.

9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Arrival and networking

Participants are to pre-register for Event Tech Live

9am – arrive for the show’s opening, collect your badges and head to “Working Groups, Roundtable Discussions & Workshops area”

9:30 AM – 9:40 AM | Opening remarks and challenge introduction

Duncan Reid, CEO Reset Connect (Host)

Welcome and introduction to the hackathon concept and outline of the day’s objectives. 

The three key challenges for the teams will be revealed, focusing on:

  • Marketing
  • Ops
  • Sales

Working in groups, you will be come up with efficient, time saving, cost saving and revenue-generating ideas and solutions around a given challenge. 

9:40 AM – 10:30 AM | Hackathon challenge workgroups

Participants are split into groups to tackle their designated challenges.

Each group will have 60 minutes to collaborate, brainstorm, and formulate solutions.

10:30 AM – 11:00 AM | 1st presentations of solutions

Each group will present their proposed solutions as a practice to Duncan and members of the AEO digital working group

Presentations will focus on how their solution saves time, generates revenue and reduces costs. Points awarded for each element incorporated. 

2:40 PM – 3:10 PM | Live stage presentation

The judges will provide feedback, deliberate, and announce the winning group. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team, which will include free places to the AEO Forums in February 2025.

Participants can continue to network, discuss ideas, and share insights.
