About the Security & counter-terrorism (SaCT) working group
The overarching goal of the working group is to create a robust, collaborative network that improves event security across the industry. The specific objectives of the group include:
1.Establishing common security standards: Develop and implement consistent security protocols and best practices across the event industry, tailored to the needs of venues, organisers, and suppliers.
2.Knowledge sharing and resource pooling: Create an environment where security knowledge, tools, technologies, and experiences can be shared among stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in security measures.
3.Coordinated response to threats: Facilitate faster and more efficient responses to emerging security threats, both on-site and through advanced intelligence-sharing.
4.Training and education: Investigate how the Associations can offer joint training and certification programs for event organisers, venue staff, and suppliers, ensuring consistent, high-quality security practices.
5.Improving crisis management and communication: Establish clear lines of communication and operational protocols for managing crises, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and prepared.
6.Advocating for policy change: Work collectively to advocate for security-related legislative or regulatory changes that benefit the entire industry and understand roles and responsibilities given any new legislation (Protect Duty).
