The AEO has some of the most prolific event organisers in the world in membership. Our members are responsible for in excess of 1,700 events a year, with around 900 taking place in the UK.
As an industry, we have an economic impact of nearly £12 Billion to the UK economy, which is the largest share of a £40 Billion sector, the 6th largest in the UK. Our members are also responsible for a huge number of shows abroad. The AEO conducted international research that found that overall, UK organisers were responsible for 1057 events outside the UK.
This number was predicted to grow further as 93% of those UK organisers currently operating overseas, expected their overseas exhibition turnovers to increase in the next 5 years.
